Trattoria Donnini A delightful restaurant with garden near characteristic Bagno a Ripoli, just outside Florence and within easy reach of the A1 motorway. A traditional and beautfully presented Tuscan cuisine based on genuine flavours, fresh fish and light lunches on the veranda beside the garden - where live music is performed in summer - together with a friendly but efficient service and an inviting environment where customers immediately feel at home. This is why Trattoria Donnini has fo r decades been one of the most popular places to dine outside Florence. Founded as a posting station in the early 20th century, this small trattoria soon became well known for its Tuscan specialities. Today the Lobascio family runs it with love, taking great care to choose the best seasonal products. Chef Andrea Zanaboni makes everything from the bread to the pasta and desserts. Some of the specialities on the menu include traditional Tuscan starters, others are based on fish, meat or vegetables, plus a legendary dish to prevent ‘flu used by local farmers. First courses include delicious risotto and pasta dishes, while main courses range from the trattoria’s famous mixed fry to Florentine or sliced steaks or chicken, served with fresh salads, and followed by mouthwatering desserts. Smokers can dine in a small room with a fireplace. There is an excellent choice of fine wines, dessert wines and after-dinner liqueurs and grappas.
