| Trattoria “I 13 Gobbi” is one of the most typical eating places in town and where you can still find an atmosphere of Florence as it was in the past. Situated only a short distance away from the large hotels in the centre, this trattoria has always been a meeting place for actors, artists and tourists of a certain social level. The interior boasts a delightfully characteristic atmosphere thanks to the candle-lit tables and the decor based on a host of unusual objects, like old boxes, bottles and antique curios. The menu is centred around classical Florentine and Tuscan dishes carefully cooked in a light and flavoursome way. The meat is deliciously tender, especially the Florentine steaks, ossobuco (bone marrow), peposo (a peppery stew), and beef fillet in sauce. The desserts are incredibly good, just like Mother used to make them and the food is complemented by an excellent choice of Tuscan wines. The service is extremely cordial and in summer you can dine in the really delightful internal courtyard.
