| This Florentine cafè, with its 250 years of history, continues to follow the same methods and traditions that it has used for making its pastries since 1733. Its fascination has therefore remained unchanged, while the lighting and furnishings recall an atmosphere of the past.
Its coffee and pastries are excellent and it is renowned for its hot chocolate, which is greatly appreciated, especially on cold winter days.
The fine cuisine is based on beautifully presented Tuscan and international dishes that are impeccably served. The excellent wine list includes the best champagnes and some of the most famous vintages.
Formerly a meeting place for artists and men of letters, it has now become very popular with tourists, and not just the Florentines, who have always considered - and continue to consider - this cafè as an important point of reference for the city.
In the summer the wide outside terrace welcomes clients who wish to enjoy the view over Piazza della Repubblica, while a more intimate and refined atmosphere can be found within.
